NURS 765 - Concepts of Advanced Nursing Practice 2 Credits This course examines concepts and research evidence to support the practice of nursing roles at an advanced level. Indirect and direct care within the advanced nursing role will be explored. Attention will also be given to the advanced nurse as a change agent and as an interprofessional collaborator. Certifications for advanced practice nursing will also be appraised. Grade Note(s): All component corequistes must be repeated if a failing grade is received in any one of them. The lecture, lab, and virtual lab (V) and clincal (C) components of each NURS and NRPY course must be successfully completed with a B- or better in the same semester. Component Corequisite(s): NURS 765 and NURS 765C Prerequisite(s): NURS 735 , NURS 740 , and NURS 740V Corequisite(s): NURS 738 *
*May also be taken as a prerequisite. Course Learning Outcomes: 1. Synthesize concepts and evidence-based findings that support the advanced nursing practice role, evolution, and future opportunities.
2. Evaluate certifications for the advanced practice nurse.
3. Analyze the indirect and direct care roles of the advanced practice nurse.
4. Investigate the role of the advanced nurse as an interprofessional collaborator and change agent for improvement in care quality.
