NURS 740 - Advanced Health Assessment


2 Credits
This course prepares students to conduct advanced health assessments for clients across the lifespan. The use of health assessment data to develop diagnostic reasoning skills and prioritize patient problems is emphasized. Clinical judgment is developed through case analysis and scholarly discussions.
Grade Note(s): All component corequisites must be repeated if a failing grade is received in any one of them. The lecture, lab, and virtual lab (V) and clinical (C) components of each NURS and NRPY course must be successfully completed with a B- or better in the same semester.

Component Corequisite(s): NURS 740 and NURS 740V  
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the MSN program.
Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Synthesize assessment findings to formulate a provisional diagnosis and written summary. 
2. Analyze differential diagnosis for patients across the lifespan.
3. Differentiate between normal and abnormal variations across the lifespan.
4. Analyze risk assessments for patients with lifestyle and other risk factors.
