NURS 735 - Advanced Pathophysiology 3 Credits This course focuses on normal physiology and alterations of physiological systems, etiology, and clinical manifestations of commonly occurring health problems across the lifespan. Analysis of risk factors, pathophysiological changes, and associated clinical signs and symptoms are presented as a foundation for clinical judgment and clinical decision-making for the advanced practice nurse. Grade Note(s): A grade of B- or better is required for successful completion of all NURS and NRPY courses. Fees: Additional course fees apply. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the MSN program. Course Learning Outcomes: 1. Differentiate between normal and altered physiological processes across the lifespan.
2. Analyze the pathophysiological alterations, etiology, and clinical manifestations associated with health alterations across the lifespan.
3. Examine clinical manifestations of health alterations related to age, gender, health status, cultural, and sociodemographic factors.
4. Correlate common pathophysiological processes to clinical presentation by utilizing clinical judgment and decision making in advanced nursing practice.
