NURS 787 - Role of the Nurse Educator 1 Credits In this course, students will synthesize advanced concepts in nursing education with a focus on the multifaceted role of the nurse educator as a leader, advocate, and scholar. Students will develop comprehensive approaches to create inclusive, ethical, and legally compliant educational environments. Students will be prepared to excel in diverse educational settings, equipped with the skills needed to foster positive learning environments, promote professional integrity, and uphold the rights of all learners. Grade Note(s): All component corequisites must be repeated if a failing grade is received in any one of them. The lecture, lab (L or V), and clinical (C) components of each NURS and NRPY course must be successfully completed with a B- or better in the same semester. Component Corequisite(s): NURS 787 and NURS 787C Prerequisite(s): NURS 765 , NURS 765C , and NURS 785 Course Learning Outcomes: 1. Synthesize advanced concepts in nursing education to embody the roles of leader, advocate, and scholar within diverse educational settings.
2. Develop strategies to effectively manage and mitigate incivility, promoting a positive and respectful learning atmosphere.
3. Design and advocate for educational practices that provide equitable access and support, fostering an environment of inclusivity.
4. Analyze Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations to safeguard student rights, ensuring ethical and legally compliant handling of student information in academic environments.
