NURS 785 - Teaching Strategies, Assessment, and Evaluation


3 Credits
This course explores current and emerging assessment techniques and evaluation methods used by nurse educators in various settings, including classrooms, labs, and clinical environments. Students will design assessment and evaluation techniques to align with course and clinical learning objectives. Certification of the nurse educator will also be explored.  
Grade Note(s): A grade of B- or better is required for successful completion of all NURS and NRPY courses.
Prerequisite(s): NURS 784  
Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Design assessments and evaluations using evidence based evaluation measures.
2. Analyze traditional, current, and emerging methods of assessment and evaluation. 
3. Examine the certification process of the nurse educator.
4. Discuss the challenges and opportunities of evaluating student learning outcomes using existing and emerging methods of evaluation.
