LEGL 415 - Advanced Litigation 3 Credits This is an advanced course in trial practice. Particular emphasis will be given to discovery and trial preparation. Fees: Additional course fees apply. Prerequisite(s): LEGL 215 and LEGL 218 are the required prerequisites for bachelor’s degree seeking students. LEGL 215 and LEGL 216 are the required prerequisites for the students in the post-baccalaureate certificate program. Course Learning Outcomes: 1. Create an electronic litigation notebook that includes the required documents for all phases of litigation consistent in style, format, and content required by the court rules.
2. Justify legal theory by drafting a motion with corresponding legal brief for a given fact situation.
3. Evaluate the ethical principals of the Model Rules of Professional Responsibility in litigation practice, including the unauthorized practice of law.
4. Evaluate all forms of discovery obtained using a litigation spreadsheet.
