Long-Term Care Specialty [LTCS] - 12 Credits

The Long-Term Care Specialty offers a curriculum designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills needed to excel in the dynamic field of long-term care. Students gain insights into effective management practices tailored to nursing homes and assisted living facilities; an understanding of regulatory compliance and financial management critical for sustaining quality care, diverse range of care services and clinical practices necessary for meeting the complex needs of aging populations, and the physiological, psychological, and social factors that influence the aging process. The Long-Term Care specialty of the HSAD degree not only prepares graduates for rewarding careers in long-term care but also serves as a foundation for individuals seeking to become a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA).
