NURS 420Y - Community Health Nursing Lecture/Clinical 4 Credits This combined didactic and clinical course focuses on community and public health nursing concepts. Topics include population-centered risk reduction, health promotion, public health policy, public health emergencies and disasters, and social determinants of health. Experiential learning opportunities allow students to apply knowledge of nursing and public health nursing to population-centered nursing practice. Interprofessional collaboration will be utilized to meet the health needs of a selected population. Promoting equitable health outcomes for diverse populations through advocacy and education will be emphasized. NURS420Y requires 90 hours of clinical for the semester. Grade Note(s): A grade of B- or better is required to pass this course successfully. Fees: Additional course fees apply. Prerequisite(s): NURS 315 ,Unencumbered RN license
