NURS 420Y - Community Health Nursing Lecture/Clinical 4 Credits This course will provide the undergraduate student with a basic foundation for the practice of community health nursing. The student will apply the nursing process to the care of individuals, families and communities, with an emphasis on prevention at all levels. The Roy conceptual model of nursing provides the framework for the care of the client as an adaptive community. The student will also be introduced to multiple roles of the community health nurse in a variety of settings and application to a collaborative health care model. NURS 420Y is offered online in a ten week format and requires 90 hours of clinical for the semester. Grade Note(s): A grade of B- or better is required to pass this course successfully.
