HSAD 402 - Health Care Risk Management 3 Credits This course examines issues related to risk management in health care. The focus will be on methods utilized to identify risk factors for the purpose of minimizing potential liability for health care organizations. Risk management programs consistent with current risk management trends to decrease liability will be highlighted. Grade Note(s): A grade of C or better is required to pass this course successfully. Prerequisite(s): HINT 209 Course Learning Outcomes: 1. Design a risk management program that includes current trends.
2. Assess accreditation standards, regulatory and licensing requirements for health care organizations.
3. Assess medical malpractice tort reform initiatives related to current malpractice trends.
4. Analyze federal and state laws that promote patient safety.
