NURS 415 - Evidence Base Nursing Practice


2 Credits
This course will explore scholarship in nursing practice. Students will learn how to locate, appraise, and synthesize the evidence, translating that evidence into practice by writing a practice-change proposal.
Grade Note(s): A grade of B- or better is required to pass this course successfully.
Prerequisite(s): BSN-PL: COMM 120 ENGL 110 NURS 250 NURS 315  and STAT 219  

 

 
Corequisite(s): BSN-Concurrent/Completion only: HLTH 401  * *Can also be taken as a prerequisite
Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Evaluate research for quality and relevance to an identified need for nursing practice change.
2. Integrate research findings to address gaps in nursing practice.
3. Conduct a scholarly literature search using professional databases to locate nursing and related research.
4. Utilize a theoretical framework to develop and disseminate a proposed evidence-based nursing practice change.
5. Identify a relevant nursing problem based on current nursing and related research.
