NETW 217 - Linux Operating Systems 3 Credits This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and concepts of Linux operating systems. Students will gain a foundational understanding of Linux architecture, key commands, and system administration techniques. Prerequisite(s): NETW 101 Course Learning Outcomes: 1. Develop simple shell scripts to automate common system administration tasks.
2. Diagnose common server issues using system logs and monitoring tools.
3. Analyze the suitability of different Linux distributions for specific use cases based on their features and characteristics.
4. Explain the fundamental concepts of the Linux operating system, including the kernel, file system hierarchy, and user permissions.
5. Identify common Linux distributions, command-line interface elements, and basic commands for navigating the file system.
