NETW 101 - PC Operating Systems


3 Credits
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to computer operating systems for professional environments. Students will gain hands-on experience with operating system  installation, management, maintenance, customization, troubleshooting, and file and disk management. The course also addresses key security concepts within operating system platforms.
Recommended Prerequisite(s): CISP 100  
Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Troubleshoot common operating system issues.
2. Analyze the security vulnerabilities of different operating system configurations and appropriate mitigation strategies.
3. Install various operating system platforms in a professional setting.
4. Explain the relationship between operating system architecture and system performance, security, and resource management.
5. Identify the fundamental components and functions of modern computer operating systems in professional environments.
