NETW 201 - PC Maintenance and Management 3 Credits This hands-on course provides a comprehensive introduction to personal computers (PCs), covering their components, basic troubleshooting techniques, and essential maintenance practices. Students will gain practical experience in identifying and resolving common hardware and software issues. This course prepares students to pursue the CompTIA A+ industry certification. Prerequisite(s): NETW 101 Course Learning Outcomes: 1. Recommend appropriate PC upgrades or repairs to improve functionality and efficiency.
2. Diagnose common hardware and software problems, such as boot failures, connectivity issues, and software conflicts.
3. Explain the basic functions of each major PC component and how they interact to process information.
4. Explain the safe handling procedures to protect computer components from damage during installation, removal, and troubleshooting.
5. Identify the primary internal and external components of a personal computer system, including the motherboard, CPU, RAM, storage devices, and peripherals.
