LEGL 305 - Real Estate Law EL


3 Credits
Students are introduced to various forms of property ownership. Students will draft legal documents used in real estate transactions as well as documents used in litigation reflecting various types of property ownership.
Prerequisite(s): LEGL 101  
Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Create a portfolio of all legally required closing documents for a real estate transaction as provided in a fact situation, including a land contract.
2. Formulate the specific process of transferring property in given situation.
3. Analyze the ethical principals of the Model Rules of Professional Responsibility in real estate practice, including the unauthorized practice of law.
4. Apply the relevant court rules to a landlord/tenant dispute as given in a fact situation.
5. Explain common real estate terms.
