CSCI 448 - Collaborative Game Development


3 Credits
This course focuses on the creation of a complete game through team collaboration, where students take on various roles within a development team. The course provides hands-on experience in the collaborative aspects of game development, including design, programming, art, audio, testing, and project management. Emphasis will be placed on managing the design process and leveraging tools and technologies that enable effective team collaboration and project management throughout all stages of the game development life cycle. Students will gain practical skills in communication, problem-solving, and iterative development, culminating in the delivery of a polished game project. This course prepares students for real-world team environments within the game industry.
Prerequisite(s): CSCI 370  
Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Create a complete, polished game by integrating design, programming, art, audio, and testing.
2. Evaluate iterative development processes to refine and improve game quality.
3. Analyze the roles and responsibilities within a development team to optimize collaboration.
4. Apply project management tools and methodologies to organize and track game development.
