Certificate • CTR PACERT
The certificate in Cancer Tumor Registry will prepare students with the required knowledge and professional understanding needed to work in a cancer registry. A minimum of an associate degree is required for admission to the program. This certificate also can enhance a bachelors graduate’s skill set and provide new opportunities in the registry field. Some foundational courses may be required based on previous earned degree courses.
Students successfully completing this National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) accredited program are eligible to take the Oncology Data Specialist (ODS-formerly the CTR Exam) offered by the NCRA.
Associates or Bachelors degree on file is required for admission.

Learning Outcomes

Conduct statistical analysis of cancer data to present and report on epidemiology, incidence, quality and cancer survival outcomes. -
Analyze healthcare documentation for the purpose of identifying cancer cases and apply the principles of oncology coding, staging, and abstraction to maintain a record of surveillance. -
Demonstrate knowledge of Cancer Registry structure, function, and operations, including Cancer Committee, Cancer Conference, and Commission on Cancer. -
Identify the standard setting organizations that govern the collection, use, and management of cancer data, and describe their unique responsibilities. Foundational Courses - 17 Credits
