The purpose of the College of Urban Education’s undergraduate programs is to fill the need for diverse STEM educators who are well-equipped to positively impact urban communities. The College achieves this goal by training teacher candidates to approach students holistically in a culturally responsive manner through instruction that engages and inspires. The undergraduate programs utilize leading-edge coaching, and professional development models, and mobile technologies. Immersion in service learning, started in the first year, also ensures teacher candidates are best prepared for success both in their program and in the field.
