NURS 334 - Nursing Care of Adults II


4 Credits
This course focuses on the additional development of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills involved in nursing care of the adult patient. Concepts which address prevention, health promotion, disease management, and therapeutic interventions for adults will be continued. Health issues and disease processes commonly experienced by individuals and their families in the adult years will be examined. Emphasis will be placed on the teaching-learning process to promote a state of wellness and also end of life care for the client and family within the practice of the professional nurse. The student will continue to utilize therapeutic communication techniques with clients, families, and all members of the health care team. Additional ethical and legal implications for the nursing profession will be included.
Grade Note(s): A grade of B- or better is required to pass this course

Component Co-requisite(s): NURS 334, NURS 334L  and NURS 334C  The lecture, lab (L) and clinical (C) components of each NURS course must be successfully completed during the same semester. All component co-requisites must be repeated if a failing grade is received in any one of them.
Prerequisite(s): NURS 250 , NURS 250L  and NURS 250C
