PLAA 685 - MBA Special Topics


3 Credits
This course provides 30 credit MBA program students with a means to earn elective academic credit based on the evaluation of verifiable business-related and graduate‐ level learning achieved outside of the traditional academic environment. Students work independently under faculty supervision and are provided structure and support to complete assessments which demonstrate and document professional competencies aligned with a wide- array of academic disciplines in the MBA program. Credit is awarded based on the successful demonstration of competencies as determined and assigned by faculty subject matter experts. 
Grade Note(s): All assessments are presented to the faculty for evaluation and credit determination. Also, students will complete an oral defense of the PLA after submission.
Fees: An assessment fee is assigned and this fee is non-refundable.
Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Synthesize evidence in response to assessments which align the student’s relevant professional experience to objectives of selected MBA academic disciplines.
2. Defend evidence provided to satisfy assessments in an oral defense with MBA subject matter expert faculty.
3. Analyze competencies gained from professional experience.
4. Compare and contrast the difference between experience and learning.
