HINT 730 - Legal Aspects and Compliance

This course will provide an overview of the legal processes and compliance issues related to health data. Students will review HIPAA compliance requirements as well as review risk management strategies and policies. Students will develop a training program related to legal issues and compliance and incorporate project management methodologies.

Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Create a training program for a healthcare work force related to regulatory and legal issues.
2. Develop strategies for compliance with external forces.
3. Recommend strategies for detecting and preventing healthcare fraud.
4. Utilize project management methodologies to meet the intended outcome.
5. Determine compliance requirements throughout the health information life cycle.
6. Assess legal processes impacting health information.
