DATA 288 - Introduction to R Programming


3 Credits
In this course, students are introduced to the R statistical programming language and learn about statistical computing, how to read and manipulate data using R packages, write R functions, and debug and organize R programs. Students also learn how to install and configure software necessary for statistical programming and data analysis in R.
Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Create Data Visualizations in R.
2. Generate reports using R MarkDown and Quarto.
3. Conduct basic statistical analysis using R functions.
4. Apply loop functions, condition functions, and logic operators in data analysis.
5. Write custom functions applying R basic programming language.
6. Perform error debugging and handling.
7. Load Excel and CSV datasets into R.
8. Install R, Posit, and R packages.
