MATH 350 - Differential Equations with Modeling

4 Credits
This course covers applications and solutions of first order differential equations including graphical solutions, applications and solutions of second order linear differential equations, systems of first order linear differential equations, theory and techniques of linearization, and graphical solutions to first order systems of nonlinear differential equations. The emphasis throughout will be using differential equations to model and predict the behavior of natural processes.
Fees: Additional course fees apply.
Prerequisite(s): MATH 215  with C grade or better
Corequisite(s): MATH 205
Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Construct differential equations including systems which model various natural phenomena.
2. Solve differential equations using analytical, graphical, and numerical methods.
3. Interpret differential equations including systems which model various natural phenomena.
4. Communicate solutions orally and in writing.
5. Explain the theory of linear differential equations and their solutions using vector space terminology.
6. Explain terms from discrete dynamics.
