HSAD 302 - Regulatory Health Care 3 Credits This course provides an overview of state and federal healthcare regulations with a focus on physicians, hospitals, government agencies, medical insurance and producers of medical products and services. Health law concepts will focus on providing students with knowledge to become critical thinkers in a professional practice. Students will examine innovations transforming global health industry practices and public policy. Grade Note(s): A grade of C or better is required to pass this course successfully. Prerequisite(s): HLTH 230 with C grade or better Course Learning Outcomes: 1. Determine compliance with state and federal laws for healthcare organizations.
2. Assess the financial implications related to an organization’s compliance and regulations.
3. Distinguish reporting techniques as it relates to requests of regulatory and government agencies.
4. Analyze environmental issues and respective regulatory requirements for healthcare organizations.
