HINT 215 - Applied Statistics for Health Information


1 Credits
This course provides the student with the knowledge and application of statistics and use of spreadsheets to compile data and present information. In this course students gain understanding and apply knowledge of health care statistics and research through the study of indices, databases, and registries, vital statistics, health care and descriptive statistics, data selection, interpretation and presentation of data and information research techniques. The course requires that the student compute health care statistics.
Grade Note(s): A grade of C or better is required to pass this course successfully.
Prerequisite(s): MATH 120   
Corequisite(s): HINT 110  
Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Apply graphical tools for data presentation.
2. Validate the reliability and accuracy of secondary data sources.
3. Report healthcare statistics.
