CISP 401 - Systems Analysis and Design 3 Credits This course is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the evolving landscape of information systems. The course emphasizes the integration of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Cloud Computing. Students will explore capability-based engineering and the application of advanced project management methodologies, including Agile and DevOps, to design and implement efficient, scalable systems. By focusing on both current industry practices and future trends, this course prepares students to address complex challenges in systems development and management. Prerequisite(s): CISP 111 , CISP 247 , and either CSCI 232 , CSCI 234 , or CSCI 239 Course Learning Outcomes: 1. Design system solutions that apply user-centered principles and utilize modeling tools e.g., UML diagrams, CASE tools to enhance usability and communicate system designs effectively.
2. Integrate emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and blockchain into system designs to address specific business needs.
3. Evaluate system architectures for scalability, security, and maintainability, using structured methods and industry best practices.
4. Analyze system requirements to identify functional and non-functional specifications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical constraints.
5. Apply Agile and DevOps methodologies to simulate real-world systems development processes and manage project workflows effectively.
