CISP 238 - Server Side Scripting I


3 Credits
This course provides students hands-on experience integrating front-end and back-end web development. The course emphasizes building dynamic, database-driven web applications capable of retrieving and manipulating data through the use of an entity framework. Students tackle real-world problems, honing their skills in database management, data modeling, and responsive web design.
Grade Note(s): This course requires a C or better grade in order to take the next course in the sequence.
Prerequisite(s): CSCI 232 , CSCI 234 , CSCI 239 , and CISP 247  
Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Design server-side applications using a forms-based approach to process user input, manage state, and integrate with backend systems, ensuring secure and efficient data handling.
2. Develop dynamic, database-driven web applications by integrating front-end and back-end technologies.
3. Implement secure data validation techniques.
4. Deploy web applications to remote servers using industry-standards, methodologies, and version control techniques.
5. Identify inefficiencies in the exchange of data between client and server-side systems.
