CISP 211 - E-Business Technologies


3 Credits
This introductory course explores Internet and web-based technologies and their applications in enhancing purchasing and logistics processes. Key topics include the role of digital technologies in creating business opportunities, e-commerce strategies, essential hardware and software requirements, security and payment systems, as well as MRP (Material Requirements Planning), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and cloud technology. 
Prerequisite(s): CISP 111  
Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Evaluate the impact of web technologies on business practices, focusing on their ability to foster transparency and create new opportunities.
2. Assess key challenges related to security, privacy, and legal compliance, ensuring the ethical and reliable operation of e-businesses.
3. Examine the effect of internet-based technologies on supply chain efficiency, emphasizing their role in improving communication, information flow, and logistics management.
4. Analyze ERP and MRP systems, recognizing their importance in integrating and streamlining business processes across organizations.
