BUSN 210 - Professional Ethics


3 Credits
This course explores applied ethics, focusing on social and professional situations especially in the fields of business, law, and tech­nology. Students learn ethical theory as they examine the complexities of ethical dilemmas. Students also compare and contrast ethical and moral systems. In addition, students apply creative and critical thinking to ethical dilemmas involving professional and social responsibility.

Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Examine how ethical concepts can be used in the business context to resolve ethical dilemmas and improve ethical decision-making.
2. Compare ethical and moral belief systems.
3. Describe how professional and social ethical decision making influences employee behavior and organizational culture.
4. Explain the social and legal ramifications of unethical practices.
5. Describe what the appearance of unethical or compromising practices in business situations means and what businesses should do to avoid such circumstances.
