OPMT 495 - Operations and Supply Chain Management Capstone


4 Credits
In this course, emphasis will be placed on the application of strategic and tactical operations and supply chain concepts through the analysis of real-world cases and the completion of a comprehensive capstone project. This analysis includes an examination of supply chain design, process flows, capacity and demand planning, sourcing and logistics decisions, and operational performance measures. Students will conduct situational analyses of organizations to identify operational challenges and improvement opportunities, and will conclude with practical, well-supported recommendations aimed at improving efficiency, effectiveness, and long-term organizational sustainability.

Prerequisite(s): Achieved Senior Status.
Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Develop integrated, data-informed operations and supply chain recommendations that align with organizational strategy and support sustainable competitive advantage.
2. Analyze organizational operations and supply chain activities within a broader business context to identify operational challenges, constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
3. Evaluate operations and supply chain decisions related to sourcing, production, logistics, and capacity using relevant data to determine their impact on cost, quality, service, and overall business performance.
4. Communicate operations and supply chain analyses and managerial recommendations effectively through professional written reports and oral presentations suitable for business decision-makers.
