NRPY 747C - Mental Health Nursing Clinical II 4 Credits 180 Contact Hours This course focuses on progressive development of the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner competencies in management of patients with mental health alterations across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on advanced competency development in performing advanced assessment, determining a differential diagnosis, and developing a treatment plan, utilizing the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders (DSM-V) and other evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. Experiences are provided in clinical decision making and implementation of treatment in a variety of mental health settings. NRPY747C requires 180 hours at a clinical site.
