NURS 768 - FNP I-Health Promotion for the Advanced Practice Nurse


2 Credits
This course focuses on the role of the advanced practice nurse in promoting health and preventing diseases across the lifespan. Emphasis will be placed on types of prevention and tools for health promotion. Major causes of premature morbidity and mortality will be introduced. Students will develop strategies to promote health and wellness. Evidence-based screening guidelines and lifestyle modifications for health promotion and disease prevention will be discussed.  
Grade Note(s): All component co-requisites must be repeated if a failing grade is received in any one of them. The lecture, lab and virtual lab (V) and clinical (C) components of each NURS and NRPY course must be successfully completed with a B- or better in the same semester.
