MATH 260 - College Geometry 3 Credits This course covers the essential topics of Euclidean geometry including i) axiomatic definitions of points, lines, angles, planes, and geometric shapes, ii) derivations and applications of formulas involving perimeter, area, surface area, and volume for two- and three-dimensional shapes, iii) proving theorems using concepts of parallel and perpendicular lines, congruence, and similarity, and iv) conic sections. The course will also include an exploration of non-Euclidean geometries including hyperbolic and spherical geometry. Prerequisite(s): MATH 120 or MATH 125
